There are times in all of our lives when we could use a non-judgemental perspective and fresh eyes to see with. As a compassionate witness to your story, a counsellor’s presence is often enough to start the process of healing. Maybe you’re going through a major life transition or you’re realizing that you’d like to change the way you react to the people, places and circumstances of your life. It could be that you’re living with a heavy sadness or big anxiety or deep indecision. Whatever the issues you’re dealing with, we can work with them.

In this confidential relationship, your counsellor will offer you new ways of thinking about yourself and reflect back to you the unique skills and strengths you already possess. As part of the counselling process, you may experience healing, gain new perspectives, and eventually find new ways to manage your life. Y

ou’ll work with the same counsellor over several weeks or months to help you gain insight about yourself and others. This is also a chance for you to think about yourself as someone deeply embedded in a matrix of family, cultural, historical, gendered and spiritual norms.

When we take a good look at ourselves as individuals and as part of community, we can see ourselves through different eyes. A therapist can help you see old patterns in new ways and offer you some rationale for what to you might seem like confusing behaviour or thoughts. You may create life goals, and work toward them or there may be gentle suggestions for skills and techniques that might help bring more ease into your life. Ultimately, a therapist’s job is to work with you to figure out where you want to focus your time and help you untangle the knots you’ve found there.
